Defining Goals and Framework Conditions

Before beginning the concrete planning of a Mastermind, it is essential to define clear goals. These goals provide direction, create focus, and form the foundation for motivated and purposeful participation in the meetings.

In order to derive suitable framework conditions from these goals, it is helpful to reflect on a few fundamental questions in advance:

What do you want to achieve? Should the focus primarily be on professional or business-related objectives, or should other areas of life such as finances, health, or relationships also be included?

Who should participate? Is the Mastermind intended for people from a specific industry or with a clearly defined field of interest, or is a deliberately broader composition desired?

How often should the Mastermind meet? Should meetings take place weekly, monthly, or at another regular interval?

What format will the meetings take? Will the Mastermind meet in person, virtually, or through a combination of both formats?

Once these questions have been answered, the goals should be formulated clearly and communicated transparently. This ensures that all participants understand what they can expect from the Mastermind and how they can contribute to achieving the shared objectives. Ideally, the goals can be explained concisely in about one minute. The intention is to create clarity and interest, not to overwhelm potential participants at the outset.

It can be helpful to practice this brief description in advance, for example in front of a mirror or in conversation with a trusted person who can provide honest and constructive feedback.

As the Mastermind progresses, it is important to review the goals regularly and adjust them if necessary. This helps ensure that the group remains relevant, focused, and aligned over time. This aspect will be explored in more detail at a later stage.

Once the goals and framework conditions are clearly defined, the next planning steps can follow. These include, in particular, selecting suitable participants and deciding on an appropriate meeting location or digital format.
